A 12-year-old artist has made
$1.6 million from portraits as NFTs

Artist Neela Hayes earned $1.6 million from selling her paintings as NFTs. The girl created portraits of people with long necks. Accordingly, that's what she called her collection, "Long Necks."

Nila Hayes as a child was very fond of dinosaurs. And at the age of nine, she started drawing women with long necks. It seemed to her that this was how she could portray female strength.

"I want to show in my work how beautiful, strong and powerful women can be. And it doesn't matter their culture or background, all women are beautiful," Hayes said.

The girl produced her first collection of 75 paintings, 51 of which were sold. A few months later she produced her second collection of 3,333 portraits of women. All the paintings were sold out within
in a few hours.

The girl drew her pictures at first on a smartphone, but later decided to do everything on the iPad. To date, her work has earned $ 5.8 million on the secondary market. Hayes herself has earned $1.61 million in primary sales.

Frozen in the moment
Beth Cavener Sculptures

American artist and sculptor Beth Cavener sculpts amazing anthropomorphic animal figures from clay, in an unusual painterly manner, shaping the body with large strokes using chunks of clay.

But these are not just sculptures in her works, the artist expresses human character traits. Through these images, Beth depicts human behavior in moments of emotional turmoil. The sculptures embody the consequences of human fear, apathy, misunderstanding, aggression.

What's interesting is that I even have a book with a portfolio of the work of Beth Cavener. All because if someone inspires me very much, I always try to find that artist's book.
It helps a lot in finding my personal style.

How can an artist not be afraid
of sharing their art?

More than once I have noticed that many people today are engaged in creative work, but not everyone dares to put their work in the public eye. Many reasons can stop a creator at such moments, but most of all it is a variety of Fears.

What goes through your mind
in your head at this moment?

•I'm not good enough;
•There are plenty of artists who started early and paint better;
•I don't think anyone needs this;
•I'll definitely get laughed at.

These are just a small part of possible fears. We are sometimes so focused on the recognition of others, that we forget about ourselves, the need for self-expression, which is present in all of us since childhood. Fear of rejection and disapproval should not take over your inner artist, preventing him to communicate with the world and find like-minded people.

Why should you post your work?

•Visibility

Social media is great because it allows you to visually track your progress. Even just by flipping through your Artwork feed you can see your skills growing.

•Find your own community

Add other artists' accounts to be inspired by their work and learn from them. Don't be afraid to connect, comment, and ask questions, so you'll gradually build not only a creative portfolio but also your own loyal community.

•Feedback

By focusing on yourself and your creativity, showing work after work on social media, you might not notice how quickly you reach solid results. Rather than by being afraid and withholding your creativity, waiting for a better moment that will never come.

Artist discusses AI-art pros and cons, and its future //

This is the year 2023, and we're now living in a world where AI can generate any image on demand.

We asked @sheidlina about generated art legal status and how to deal with it if you are the artist. In her point of view, it's better to ride the wave rather than fight with the progress.

Walking through virtual museums
museums of the world

Being able to visit the Louvre or see the Sistine Chapel from the comfort of your own home is exciting in itself. But especially valuable is the fact that virtual tours allow you to see exhibitions in top museums around the world.

The Tretyakov Gallery

This virtual tour gives you the opportunity to visit one of the most famous Russian art museums in the world and see outstanding works by Russian artists.

Vatican City

Be sure to check out the Sistine Chapel and admire the incredible mosaics in the papal chapel. Explore on your own or use the autopilot function.

Louvre

The Louvre's exhibits include the finest works of art up to the mid-nineteenth century, as well as exhibits from ancient civilisations. Don't miss the opportunity to get to know them better.

Hermitage Museum

The museum collection contains over three million works of art and monuments of world culture from the Stone Age to the present century.
A chic virtual tour that might keep you busy for a day, if not more.

The Van Gogh Museum

Here you can both walk around the museum in virtual reality format and get into the exhibition with descriptions of the works. There is a translation and everything is done with amazing clarity.

The Salvador Dali Theatre Museum

The museum houses the largest and most diverse collection of works by the great surrealist painter, based on his own work. In addition to paintings, the museum exhibits sculptures, three-dimensional collages, as well as many exhibits surrounding the era of Dalí's life and career.

Frida Kahlo Museum House

Colourful, full of greenery and decoration, the house very accurately reflects its owner. The rooms have remained as they were when Frida was alive.

How to create an NFT:
step-by-step instructions

For artists in today's reality, knowing how to create your NFT is a must! Creative people create, sell their work on platforms, and collectors and lovers of beauty buy and resell.

Only at first glance it may seem that entering the world of NFT
is difficult, but it's not!

Created a little flowchart about
How NFTs are created:

•Download the Metamask digital wallet. I downloaded it on my phone, but you can also install it on your computer. We register and start a wallet.

•Then go to the website of NFT exchange opensea.io and select Create. In the menu that appears, click on Metamask, which will take us to the application.

•Now we will crate a picture, which will later become an NFT.
Remember that not every NFT has to be a work of art in the conventional sense. You can even start with a photo of your sketchbook or a cactus, it doesn't matter!

Let's say we've already created some kind of picture and we're ready to post it.

Next steps in the world of NFT:

•The Metamask app has opened the opensea.io page, here we need to select Metamask and confirm all actions;
•The Create New Item page will be available to us;
•Load a file with a picture;
•Add the name, logo and a short description;
•Fill out a profile on opensea.io and see our created NFT.

Not a complicated scheme that will allow you to start selling your work!

On the Edge of Dreaming and Reality by Gemmy Woud-Binnendijk

By manipulating light and pixels, Gemmy began to create works blending the style of European Golden Age artists and the classic notion of modern portraiture.

Each frame is an aesthetic that layers velvet colors on the canvas with deep shadows and brilliant highlights to create an image full of shadows, light with a beautiful stillness in between.

The future of modern art

The rapid development of technology allows us to believe that in a few decades art will change dramatically: new forms will appear that we can't even guess about today.

Let's make some assumptions
about the possible ways of development of contemporary art.

•Technology and art

Interactive technology expands the range of possibilities for the art world. New materials are penetrating our work, and new creative techniques are emerging. Increasingly works combine everyday material reality and virtual reality.

In the future, it is likely that in order to succeed, it will be necessary to follow trends regularly, to use them in your work, and to invent new forms.

•Artificial Intelligence and Art

Is a modern computer an assistant to the artist or an independent creative subject? There is no consensus on this question.

Some believe that computers can be used to create works of art. Others believe that true art is created only with human help, and that artificial intelligence is just a powerful tool that expands opportunities for creators.

•Art and the Spectator

Today, the viewer has the opportunity to interact with the artist and even participate in the creation of new works of art.

Multisensory art installations provide an opportunity to get to know and understand an idea more deeply. We can assume that the art of the future will switch from creating augmented reality in favor of collecting and transmitting experiences and impulses directly into human consciousness.

•Art and Society

Every year the connection between art and society becomes more noticeable. The development of video formats and social networks allows us to record events in real time and evaluate what is happening. Most likely this trend will only increase with the development of existing formats and the emergence of new formats of interaction between artist and viewer.

Style formation

Tattoos have been a huge inspiration to me. They had a great influence on the formation of my style. After all, I look at the elements separately, and then splice them together.

Do you need to create a separate account for your creative portfolio?

Keeping several social media accounts at once, separating your creative portfolio and your life, is possible. But let me tell you, it's quite troublesome and time-consuming.

If your account has an audience - creating an additional page
for your portfolio is possible.

BUT! If you have a small account of a couple thousand, is it worth it?

These days people are always in a hurry, actively working and generally living in multitasking mode. They're also sometimes too lazy to make more moves.

If you're going to be active, high quality, running multiple accounts at once - you're going to need a lot of effort and finances. Better create a portfolio on Bahance, or put your work in an online gallery, or make a small website, and add a link to your main account.

These actions will be more effective and will help you find a fan of your work as quickly as possible.
