ALAN CUMMING IS LOOKING FOR BUDD CHIMPANS
Actor Alan Cumming is ready to generously reward anyone who provides information about the chimpanzee from the 1997 movie Buddy. We are talking about a chimpanzee named Tonka, who appeared with him in the film.
Chimpanzees were last reported to have been sighted at the infamous Missouri Primate Foundation in Festus.
Animal rights organization PETA sued them because of the unbearable living conditions of animals. For many years, the Foundation has been a breeding enterprise for chimpanzees to be rented out for filming, partying, and even for private purchase.
Indiewire reported that Alan Cumming shared with them in an interview,
how he and the chimpanzee Tonka became close friends in just a few months of Buddy's production, helping each other and having fun together. While PETA advocates were offering a reward of at least $10,000 for the chimpanzee, the actor called the amount for providing information about the animal's whereabouts.
Cumming's statement is given in the following paragraph:
“You know, in the months that we made this film together, little Tonka and I became very good friends. We played, helped each other and just had fun. It is terrible to think now that a chimpanzee can be somewhere in a cramped cage or in a dark and damp basement. I'm talking to everyone who knows
what happened to the chimpanzee. Please come to me with information and you will receive $10,000.”
