JOE RUSSO ON HOW MARVEL IS IN THE MCU FILMS
Joe Russo, best known for directing Avengers: Endgame, has revealed just how involved Marvel Studios really is in the MCU films. Given the important task of completing the acclaimed Infinity Saga, Joe and his brother Anthony spearheaded the final two Avengers films to great acclaim.
However, at that time, the director duo already had a very long working relationship with Kevin Feige and his colleagues at Marvel Studios.
In his new interview with Joe Russo, he described exactly when difficulties could arise between Marvel Studios and the filmmakers. According to him, this is happening
when the director's cut doesn't live up to their expectations. Then Feige or any other active member of his team becomes more involved in the process. Joe stated that they did not pay any attention to them. His words are below:
"The trouble started when the director's cut was delivered to them and it wasn't what they expected.
. Then Marvel would come in and start working much harder to develop some fixes for the film and then move on to new big reshoots. And then, when you are already leaving to make a film, they leave you. This can be done in many ways. It's about how exactly you deliver your version... the director gets his part,
and then the producer comes along and becomes an important part of the process with you.”
