GEORGE MARTIN HOPES HIS SPIN OFF WILL BE BETTER THAN THE LORD OF THE RINGS

Writer George Martin hopes that the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon will do better than the long-awaited Lord of the Rings.

And although the competition is undoubtedly fierce, the writer will be happy if his project surpasses his rival.
When asked by The Independent about the Lord of the Rings TV series at the popular Santa Fe Literature Festival, the writer was initially keen to downplay their rivalry, modestly stating that he hoped "both series will be quite successful", but at the same time he described himself as "highly competitive"
that the "House of the Dragon" should "do better". Martin plans for the Game of Thrones prequel to win more prestigious awards, saying that "if they get six Emmys, then I hope we get at least seven." Read his words below:

“I hope that both series will be very successful. But I'm quite competitive.
And I really hope that we will achieve much more. For example, if they win six Emmys, and I still hope they do, then we'll get at least seven. Despite this, all this is good for the fantasy genre. And I love fantasy. Also, I love science fiction. And I want more shows like this on TV."
