SAM RAIMI ON THE DARK MAN SEQUEL
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi says there's been a lot of talk at Universal Studios about a sequel to the iconic Darkman, which provided a unique take on the superhero genre back in 1990.
Currently, Raimi is probably best known for his work with Marvel. He made a trilogy about the Man-
spider with Tobey Maguire. However, it was "Darkman" that became Raimi's opportunity to fill his teeth in the crime-fighting or vigilante genre. It was also his first major film funded by the studio. The film starred actor Liam Neeson as the main character.
In a conversation with The Wrap while promoting the Doctor Strange sequel, Raimi was asked,
what he thinks about a possible sequel to the Darkman movie. Not only did Raimi react extremely positively, he stated that there were already very active discussions at Universal studios for a sequel. In addition, the producers are probably already attached to the project. Check out his answer below:
"Universal is talking a lot about a sequel to 'Dark Man'.
And there are even producers. I haven't seen the story yet and haven't delved into it too much because I've been busy with the Doctor Strange sequel. But I'm sure it will be cool."
