Apple has decided to add apps and games with NFT to the App Store
One of the largest technology companies in the world, Apple, has finally made the decision to add NFT-based apps and games to its App Store.
Considering that marketplaces like OpenSea and Magic Eden charge no more than 5% commission, Apple's 30% commission seems unbelievable and puts app and game developers off.
Everyone is focused on Apple getting 30% of every transaction, not realizing that this will result in an ETH wallet being used in every mobile game with over 1 billion players!
I will gladly give Apple 30% free NFTs,” web3 CEO Gabriel Leydon said in a lonely voice.
Earlier, Magic Eden removed its service from the App Store after learning about the high commission policy. Even after the proposal to reduce the percentage to 15%, the decision of the project remained negative. And this is not surprising, because such a policy of Apple contradicts the concept of cryptocurrencies.
Previously, the only Apple-related NFT/web3 move involved a former Apple CEO moving to work at Disney to strategize in the metaverse.
In June, at one of the developer conferences, there were rumors that Apple would release trading NFT cards. As a result, the project was not implemented.
