ETHAN HOKE TOLD ABOUT HIS VILLAIN FROM "BLACK PHONE"

Actor Ethan Hawke spoke about his sinister character from Black Phone, discussing elements of horror and more. Director Scott Derrickson's first feature-length horror film since 2014's Deliver Us from the Evil One follows the plight of hero Mason Thames, who is kidnapped by the character Hawke,
called Grabber. Grabber keeps the unfortunate in a locked room with a gloomy broken black rotary phone on the wall. Delayed from its initial release date of February 2022, the film is slated for a worldwide release this summer. Early reviews of The Black Phone praised it as "scary" and "tense" horror.
Ahead of its release on June 24, 2022, Dolby shared a featurette with Ethan Hawke delving into the evil nature of his Grabber character and his thoughts on The Black Phone as a horror spokesperson. The video shows how the actor, who is in an abandoned warehouse,
discusses some elements of the film between home video style clips and old footage. Hawk says that Grabber is a bad person whose soul is "so badly damaged that he can even justify things that seem unthinkable to any of us."
