'MORTAL KOTTLE 2' SCREENWRITER CONFIRMS JOHNNY CAGE'S PARTICIPATION

Mortal Kombat 2 writer has confirmed that Johnny Cage will be in the sequel. Jeremy Slater, showrunner for Moon Knight, will be scripting the sequel to the reboot, based on the iconic video game created by John Tobias and Ed Boon.
The revived franchise launched in 2021 with director Simon McQuoid

In an interview with ComicBook, Slater admitted that Cage will appear in Mortal Kombat 2, but he's not sure how much he'll be involved. In addition, Slater stated that it would be quite "weird" if the character did not appear in the sequel,
especially since he was involved in the first part. He said that he would like to make the "final version" of Cage and bring the idea to life. Read Slater's comment below:

“I have to admit, Johnny Cage is one of my favorite video game characters. I think there's a promise in the way the first part ends when Cole says "Okay,
my next task is to recruit Johnny." I think if he wasn't included in the sequel, it would be pretty weird. Details are still up in the air. We don't know to what extent it will be included. We are currently working on it. I love Johnny, and I would like to make the final version of the character, embodying my ideas in the film.
