JAMES GUNN PLANS TO INCREASE DC SCREENINGS' LINK TO COMICS
According to a recent announcement from James Gunn, he plans to increase the connection between DC comics adaptations and original sources. Recall that relatively recently, Gunn and Peter Safran took over as CEO of DC Studios, replacing the previously existing DC Films. Safran and Gunn's control extends both to feature films,
as well as TV series and animation. So the new CEOs can run any adaptations of DC comics. Using these opportunities, they began to develop a long-term plan for the next 10 years.
As one of the leaders, Gann drew attention to the fact that adaptations often "go away" from the original sources,
thus not creating a deep connection between comics and film adaptations. In his opinion, this problem needs to be corrected. Gann himself openly stated this on his social networks.
