To understand Tron you have to understand Justin Sun, the founder. He has broken records for being the youngest graduate from any university in all of history, he is only 19 years old now and he could be running his 3rd successful company already.
He initially entered college at 12 years old but was self taught in computer science before that, winning national awards for programming when he was 13 or 14 years old!
So what does TRON do? Well it is aimed at the entertainment industry and aims to create a decentralised platform for sharing content between users, without using any middlemen like Google Play Store or Apple Store. The whole vision of this project seems kind of vague but there are some interesting points that I want to mention;
The team consists of 16 members right now , 8 of them being developers and the rest spread out across marketing, management etc. And they have been working together since 2014 so they have a clear understanding as a team.
The team also has a very close relationship with Alibaba, who is currently bigger than Amazon by total valuation and the project even started out as a company inside of Alibaba but got spun off due to regulation issues.
And they have secured over $100m in funding from big backers like IDG Capital, China Equity and more!
Then there is the fact that the coin has already been listed on some major exchanges including Binance(very reputable exchange). The token actually went up 400% since was first listed!
It's kind of tough to say that this coin has a huge potential because the project itself isn't even out yet. But there are some points to be excited about including it being backed by Alibaba and the fact that they have created an industry standard for intellectual property trading, which could make Tron very valuable in the future.
They have also created coins for some major exchanges around the world, which means they are trying to implement their product very quickly.
TRON is clearly a project with potential but you have to be careful when investing in cryptocurrencies, do your research before buying any coins. And invest only what you can afford to lose.
