Last week marked the official launch of USDt on TON, and KuCoin has rolled out a special promotion waiving all gas fees for USDt-TON withdrawals during the promotional period.

Eligibility criteria & snapshot

The airdrop snapshot was taken on April 23rd at 8:00 AM CEST. Active traders and holders on Getgems, xRare, and TON Diamonds from April 11th (2 PM CEST) to April 23rd (8 AM CEST) were eligible, excluding NFT collection owners, non-wallet addresses, and sybil wallet addresses. All NFT collections on these marketplaces were whitelisted for the event.

Points system & rewards

Participants earned points based on their activity across various metrics, such as:

Number of NFT collections traded: Up to 3 points for more than 5 collections
Number of NFT deals performed: Up to 3 points for more than 12 deals
Total NFT trading volume: Up to 3 points for volumes over $699

TL;DR: TON network fees have been reduced by 2.5x across the board in response to Toncoin’s recent growth.

We are excited to announce a series of updates aimed at reducing network fees, enhancing the scalability and accessibility of TON Blockchain. These updates are a testament to TON’s continuous efforts to innovate, encourage greater activity within the TON Ecosystem, and put crypto to every pocket.

Key updates:

USDt Jetton discount

Starting April 16th, there is a special discount for Jetton-with-governance transactions like USDt. Fees were reduced to 0.02 TON from 0.032 TON for the first transaction, and subsequent transactions are now only 0.0145 TON.

Global fee reduction

Validators have approved the TON Core Dev team's proposal for a further 2.5x reduction in transaction fees. The cost for the first Jetton-with-governance transaction is now ∼$0.06, with subsequent transactions at ∼$0.04, assuming 1 Toncoin = $7. Please note that these costs will fluctuate with Toncoin’s value.

Introduction of precompiled smart contracts

Precompiled contracts have been introduced to the TON network, and the first precompiled contract — a jetton with governance functionality — has been activated. This means that the most popular smart contracts, written in C++, will be embedded directly in the node, bypassing the need for TVM execution. This adjustment reduces resource consumption and, consequently, the fees associated with these contracts.

These updates are aimed at making TON, the world's most scalable blockchain, stand out as the most affordable option for projects seeking mass adoption.

Zero fees on USDt withdrawals

In celebration of the launch of USDt on TON, all USDt withdrawals from Wallet to external TON wallets are free until the end of June 2024.

Passcode in Wallet

Soon, all Wallet users will be able to enhance the security of their assets by setting a Passcode, which will be required to approve transactions. It will be securely encrypted and stored locally on the user's device. Passcode will also support Face ID and Touch ID.
