​​KATHLEEN KENNEDY TALKED ABOUT THE STAR WARS MOVIE TAIKA WAITITI

Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, shared the latest progress on director Taika Waititi's upcoming Star Wars film.

Along with his regular involvement with Marvel Studios, one of the Disney affiliates, Waititi is also slowly but surely carving out more space in the Star Wars franchise.
Apart from directing episode 8 of the popular Disney+ series The Mandalorian, he worked on the project as IG-11, a peculiar bounty hunter droid defeated by Dean Djarin. The character appears in several episodes of the series. Waititi's involvement with the franchise was solidified significantly in the spring of 2020 when it was announced,
that he would be working on a currently untitled Star Wars film.

Screen Rant attended an event celebrating the iconic Star Wars, where they spoke to Kennedy on the red carpet. The President spoke about the Waititi project, stating that development is still in its early stages.
