LEA SEYDOU ON CANCELING 'GAMBIT' WITH CHANNING TATUM

Popular French actress Léa Seydoux recently shared a story about her role in the now-out-of-production film Gambit, where actor Channing Tatum was set to play the title role of the titular mutant. Conceived as part of Fox's longtime X-Men franchise, promising plans for a Gambit solo project were announced back in 2014.
and the film itself was scheduled for release in theaters in October 2016. But a little later, the project ran into a lot of problems during the development process. Tatum, who also received the position of producer, could not achieve positive results.

Léa Seydoux, who landed the role of Tatum's love interest in the canceled film,
spoke to IndieWire about the original version of the script. Stating that they "planned to do it in a comedic way", she admitted that the version of the script she received "was really good". Read her words below:

“Yes, the script was really good. It only had a few funny moments.
however, they wanted to do it in a comedic way. I feel that people in the US have a lot more imagination than in other places. I was offered films that were very different from what I had done before. And I'm like, "Oh, that's interesting." I really like to feel that I can adapt to everything. It's very exotic."
