​​BLAKE LIVELY AND ANNA KENDRICK TO RETURN IN 'A SIMPLE PLEASE 2'

A Simple Favor 2 has been officially confirmed. Recently it became known that actresses Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick will return to the project. Based on Darcy Bell's 2017 novel of the same name and released the following year, A Simple Favor follows Pitch Perfect star Stephanie Smothers, a widowed mother
a loner and blogger from a small provincial town who is friends with a secretive woman from high society Emily Nelson (played by Lively). When Emily suddenly disappears, Stephanie decides to take it upon herself to uncover the truth about her disappearance.

Lively and Kendrick lead the cast for A Simple Favor 2, along with Andrew Rannells,
Henry Golding, Linda Cardellini, Jean Smart and Rupert Friend in supporting roles. Directed by Paul Feig, the first part was directed by Jessica Sharzer. "A Simple Favor" was an impressive critical and commercial success for Lionsgate,
almost hitting the $100 million mark in collections on a $20 million budget and scoring over 80% on the tomatometer. Given the open ending of the first part, viewers often wondered about a possible sequel.

Deadline reported that the second part has officially launched.
Lionsgate will team up with Amazon Studios for the film and will bring together most of the original cast. Lively and Kendrick agreed to reprise their roles while Fig would return to the production.
