Benedict Wong, star of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is defending the new Marvel Cinematic Universe character, Xochil Gomez's America Chavez.

During his interview with Asia One, Wong came to the defense of the new MCU star from online hate. Some of the comments, according to Wong,
include unpleasant expressions and feelings. The performer believes that "this is not good", calling the trolls on the network "cowards" and believing that they "should be deeply ashamed of what they are doing." Wong's comment can be read below:

"This not normal. You have to understand that she auditioned at the age of 13 and joined us a year later,
being one of the youngest actresses to join the MCU in a giant-scale movie. She's just a young girl playing her part. Huge praise to her for that... There is a sense of shame for all these trolls. They're just cowards, afraid to show their face. They should feel ashamed for what they are doing. I suggest you just be good.
Let's enjoy what we do. It’s very sad that the audience in this country behaves like this.”
