​Биржа Gemini будет платить проценты за депозиты в Gemini Dollar

Торговая платформа Gemini вместе с сообществом MakerDAO запустила проект, нацеленный на популяризацию стейблкоина Gemini Dollar (GUSD).
Генеральный директор криптобиржи Gemini Тайлер Уинклвосс (Tyler Winklevoss) предложил сообществу MakerDAO ежегодные начисления ставки в 1.25% на депозиты в GUSD.
Уинклвосс уточнил, что начисление ежегодной ставки в 1.25% будет осуществляться при условии, что среднемесячный объем Gemini Dollar в депозитах будет больше $100 млн. Затраты на себя возьмет сама торговая платформа.
Предложение от Gemini будет действовать три месяца. По результатам пилотного проекта в конце года компания примет решение о внедрении ежегодной ставки на постоянной основе. Кроме условий по объему стейблкоинов Gemini Dollar, размещенных на депозитах, биржа обязала MakerDAO создать юридическое лицо и пройти процедуру KYC (знай своего клиента) для регистрации счета на бирже. Это требование необходимо для размещения криптоактивов и внесения их в протокол биржи.
В сентябре основатель одного из старейших протоколов децентрализованных финансов Maker Руне Кристенсен (Rune Christensen) заявил, что стейблкоин DAI нужно отвязать от доллара США. Связано это с блокировкой адресов миксера Tornado Cash. В апреле разработчики DeFi MakerDAO объявили о планах интеграции сайдчейна Эфириума StarkNet. Это позволит снизить комиссии за транзакции со стейблкоинами DAI.

Gemini exchange will pay interest on deposits in Gemini Dollar

The Gemini trading platform, together with the MakerDAO community, has launched a project aimed at popularizing the Gemini Dollar (GUSD) stablecoin.
Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss has offered the MakerDAO community a 1.25% annual rate on GUSD deposits.
Winklevoss clarified that the accrual of an annual rate of 1.25% will be carried out on the condition that the average monthly volume of Gemini Dollar in deposits will be more than $100 million. The trading platform itself will bear the costs.
The offer from Gemini will be valid for three months. Based on the results of the pilot project, at the end of the year the company will decide to introduce the annual rate on a permanent basis. In addition to the conditions for the volume of Gemini Dollar stablecoins placed on deposits, the exchange obliged MakerDAO to create a legal entity and go through the KYC (know your customer) procedure to register an account on the exchange. This requirement is necessary for the placement of crypto assets and their inclusion in the protocol of the exchange.
In September, the founder of one of the oldest decentralized finance protocols, Maker, Rune Christensen, said that the DAI stablecoin should be decoupled from the US dollar. This is due to the blocking of Tornado Cash mixer addresses. In April, DeFi developers MakerDAO announced plans to integrate the StarkNet Ethereum sidechain. This will reduce transaction fees with DAI stablecoins.
