Bitmain начнет продажи нового майнера для Ethereum Classic 3 февраля
ETC появился в 2016 году как результат несогласия с принятым Ethereum Foundation решением о хардфорке сети для отката до момента взлома проекта The DAO с целью компенсации убытков пострадавшим. Вокруг «оригинального» блокчейна объединились участники сообщества, которые отвергли хардфорк по идеологических соображениям. На 2 февраля 16:40 мск ETC торгуется по $22,52, за сутки прибавив 4,89%, согласно Binance.
Что известно о новой модели? Стоимость майнера составит $1299, доставка будет осуществлена в течение 7 рабочих дней после поступления оплаты. Один пользователь может купить не более 50 устройств. Мощность майнеров составляет 2200 Вт, эффективность — 0,6 J/MH, а хешрейт — 3680 MH/s.
В декабре 2022 года партия майнеров Antminer HNS HS3 была распродана за 27 секунд. Устройства отпускались по цене $2092 и не более 5 штук в одни руки.
После перехода ETH на алгоритм консенсуса Proof-of-Stake в сентябре 2022 года хешрейт ETC вырос в 4 раза. На 2 февраля 2023 показатель составляет 127,08 TH/s. При этом сооснователь блокчейнов Ethereum и Cardano Чарльз Хоскинсон назвал Ethereum Classic «мертвым проектом, не реализовавшим свой потенциал».
По данным Hashrate Index, цены на ASIC-майнеры Antminer S19 и Whatsminer M30s обвалились на 87% с мая по декабрь 2022 года. Вероятно, это связано с банкротствами крупных фирм по добыче цифровых активов. Так, 21 декабря один из крупнейших майнеров, Core Scientific, подал заявление о банкротстве.

At the same time, Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of the Ethereum and Cardano blockchains, called Ethereum Classic “a dead project that has not realized its potential.”
According to the Hashrate Index, the prices of Antminer S19 and Whatsminer M30s ASIC miners have fallen by 87% from May to December 2022. This is probably due to the bankruptcies of large firms for the extraction of digital assets. So, on December 21, one of the largest miners, Core Scientific, filed for bankruptcy.
